Holiday Chirps

I wanted something a little different for cash and gift cards.  I saw several Zipper You Tube videos.  I decided to make my own in Design Studio and cut with my Cameo.  I also used the adorable Christmas Birdie from Doodle Pantry.

Today, my first zipper is for money/gift card.  Tomorrow, I'll use a zipper for a sentiment. If you would like the Zipper Studio file, email me.  (Do NOT leave a request comment on my blog since it does not give me "your" email.)

A2..Step 1...any base you like and wording or pictures
(PS...the sentiment is green but looks black in picture)

Step @: money or gift card very lightly taped in center...needs to be between the perorated lines seen in next step and picture

Step 3: use good strong glue to affix the top panel over the money/gift card

close up of the perorated lines on blue dotted paper and tab for grabbing

The white card is my prototype to show how you tear open to find the money/gift card

I also used Gina Marie Fancy Lace Rectangles and Stitched Scalloped Circle sets.

Wyatt's 1st Christmas

I said I was finished with my Christmas cards, but I left one important card to make - my grandson's 1st Christmas card.

Lori Whitlock's shadow box came together very nicely.  It will fold flat to fit a 5x7 envelop with just one stamp.  However, you can resize it.  Santa Tree Shadow Box card is on sale for $1 at the Silhouette Store till December 5.  (Lori provides a video tutorial on You Tube.)

5x7, I added red accent paper on both sides of box

front view...kept it CAS....only added "Wyatt's 1st Christmas"

A day without laughter....

...is a day wasted. - Charlie Chaplin

You know how someone's card or a sentiment will just "grab you"?  Well, Sue at Sue's Stamping Stuff, her card did that to me.  So yup, case "I did"....not just one but four.  Yup, masculine, but they are going to several girlfriends.

This is Penny Black Charlie Chaplin.  I "dressed up" a few with different border colors.  I also used Lil Inker Stitched Rectangles set.

A2, copics for coloring, pop-ups for dimension

Used Print & Cut on Cameo

Should have made more.

O Holy Night

First time in history I sent my Christmas cards out early. I made 4 different style Christmas cards for family and friends....this is the main one.  I made 12.  My prototype was sent to someone by accident.  If you got it, forgive the mistake....haha

I bought this Pop Up Box Wisemen from Lori Whitlock at her store, but you can also purchase through the Silhouette Store.  I used gold foil paper behind the words, and pop-ups behind city and wisemen for dimension.  I reduced it down to a 5.25x5.25 to fit in my 5.5 square envelopes.  The dark blue paper had bazzill texture.

I don't know why it is showing weird shadows under the wisemen

You can't tell, but star is on separate hanger. Offers lots of dimension.
Wink of Stella on Star

Added pocket on back for note and they can re-use the card

Wine...

...time to get a little snarky I guess.

This is an oldie from Bugaboo Stamps called JJ Wine.  I pulled out card scraps and a new Lacy Rectangle Die set from Gina Marie.  The cork and corkscrew "I think" came from the Silhouette Store.  I did a little distressing on the cork and screw for depth.

A2, copics for coloring.  I'm not good at coloring glass.

It's A Dog's Life

Another wonderful card file from Paper Creator's called It's A Dog's Life. I still hug my doggies everyday and give Boo an extra hug remembering how blessed we were to get him back after being gone for almost 2 weeks in the wild.

You can size this card.  I sized it to fit in a 5x5 envelop.  Remember, just put in a 5x7 envelop and it mails with just one regular stamp.  It folds flat nicely for mailing.  This card is headed to my grand daughter.  She loves cards that open up unusual ways.

The Paper Creator's Craft Challenge #53 continues with theme - Anything Goes.  Remember, using "CELY" in the coupon code area gets you 20% off.  A wonderful gift Debbie allows the DT members to share with followers.  She's such a kind, generous and talented lady.

5x5, doggie  and paw prints have several layers for interest

all papers are easy to print and everything is pre-colored
What a quick fun card!

Keep Up Your Strength

What a fun, useful House Mouse image Weight Lifter.  This one is not from the HM Triple CD set.  I'm thinking of cards for friends and family who love to "work out" and are dieting.  In this card, I'm going in a completely different direction...cards for illness.  I'm still working on cards for a relative who is going through breast cancer treatment which is why I added the extra pink weights in bottom corner.

If you look closely, the barbell Mudpie is holding is a Q-Tip....haha  (My pics came out a little dark.) I'm joining the House Mouse #230 Challenge with Anything Goes, but hope to add a card with the color challenge in a few days.

A2, cut out extra barbells and used pop-ups for dimension

I'm a Little Behind....

The good news...I did an assembly line of these "belated" birthday cards.  The bad news....I'm a card maker and yet I catch myself being late sending birthday cards!!!

I bought this Inky Antics Bear Butt several years ago but just now using.  Stamping at the Lake caused me to fall in love with the image and the other day, Indiana Inking reminded me so I cased her.

An assembly line and keeping it CAS.

Hang on Tight....

...another birthday is about to fly by!

This is a continuation of the delightful Airplanes Set by Imagine That Digistamps.  This one is a definite Indiana Inking case.  The only difference is I added dimension to the image by using my Cameo to cut, then using pop-ups for it and the stitched clouds (Lawn Fawn).

Yup, they came together quickly.

A2, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles, forgot where the background came from...if you know, I would love to go back and give credit.

free blue cloud and sky I found on the internet....pretty cool

Sail Away !!!

As a child, my brother and I would play in the old wooden rowboat in the creek across from the beach house.  We weren't REALLY allowed to "row anywhere", but in our minds, we traveled far and had many adventures.

This image Sail Away from Paper Creator's reminded me of those days of old so it was only fitting I made this card and send to my brother who's now retired and lives at that very same beach.  I hope it makes him smile.

Join the fun monthly challenge #53 at Paper Creator's Crafts.  Theme: Anything Goes!  If by chance you want to purchase an image use "CELY" to get 20% off in the coupon code area.  So many pieces comes with one image along with papers, designs and pre-colored images.

I made this 5x7 but can be changed since it is digital.

Hang in There

My first purchase from Imagine That by Digistamps.  The set is called Airplanes and is on sale.  I was inspired by Donna at Indiana Ink and plan to case her card, but for this particular one I made a box card for my cousin-in-law who has just started treatment again for breast cancer.  I'm trying to keep the cards a little silly, fun and upbeat.

The box card is from Lori through the Silhouette Store, stitched clouds and sun are from Lil Inker.  I'm entering several challenges listed below the pictures.

Apple harvest time

Took my last road trip to get apples but there are still plenty to be had.  This is part of the lovely Apple set from Doodle Pantry.  The branches are dies from Memory Box.  The flowers are just old punches and I distressed them.  This is the last of a wonderful paper pack that had a man theme.  I made this again this year since I had some extra pieces and that wonderful paper.

A2, cut out image with Cameo

added stitching, string and an apple charm

Bountiful Blessings Easel Card

First....Happy Birthday to my oldest son Bryan!
Second...mailed out my Fall cards!
Next....

I forgot to post this sweetie last week.  It is called Bountiful Blessings from Paper Creator.  It's Sassy Sally from the Sassy Cheryl collection.  It came pre-colored.  I didn't add too much for the image "says it all".  Do you remember hauling your picked pumpkin from the field and waiting to take it home to carve up?

Our challenge #53 continues at Paper Creator's Craft with theme: Anything Goes.  If you decide to purchase an image, please use "CELY" for a 20% off in the coupon code area.  I receive nothing, but it's just a gift to you.  Debbie has beautiful, fun, and playful images throughout the store for any occasion.  They come together quickly and I think 90% come pre-colored in the set.

I'm joining the fun Fall theme challenge #291 at Die Cuttin Diva's.

Merry and Bright

If you have followed me for awhile, you know I like doing window scenes using my own svg windows.  BUT, this beautiful winter window in the Seasonal Window Set from Beccy's Place was yelling "use me instead"!  I took the adorable Winter Song Birds and Holly Wreath from Doodle Pantry and married all of them.
5x5, kept sentiment simple
I kept it CAS by only doubling/layering the wreath and birdies singing to add some dimension along with some sewing around the border.
stitching, angle view, pop-ups for dimension, Cameo for extra layers
without sentiment, border is dark green but looks black

I was delighted to be one of last Saturday's winners at Beccy's Place.  My win:  choose any one set from her store FREE.  It was the Seasonal Window Set I chose.  You really need to check it out.

Jingle All the Way WOBBLE card

It's been awhile since I've made an Art Impression card but today was today.  I adored Stamp Owl's card, so I cased.  This is Bells Ring Set. I can make wobbles, but I ordered a huge package at a great price.

I made the circle rocker in Inkscape and then transferred to my Design Studio in Silhouette.  I see many tutorials to make them by hand but I wanted one I could make quickly with my Cameo and size it automatically without "crunching numbers".  I'm not putting it in "Drop Box", but more than happy to share.  Just drop me an email...email is under my "About Me" if you click it.  DO NOT leave a note under comments because it does NOT leave me your email address so I'm not able to reply to you.

Snowflakes for Sale - Purple version

I think this QKR Snowman is so silly and adorable.  Beccy at Beccy's Place asked what colors we like to work with.  I enjoy pink and grey together, purple and pink, and yellow to make me happy.  I think purple and pink are fun for holidays and snow. My grand daughter is all about purple and pink.  My friend Connie, at My Grammy's Attic, loves purple too....so I had them in mind while making this card.

I'm joining the QKR Stampede Challenge #216 - theme is splatters and sprays.  Well, I love how snowflakes splatters on my face..don't you!  I'm also joining Beccy's Challenge - Month of Holiday Cards.

A2, glitter paper, copics for coloring, die cut splatter spots
the card base is a pretty purple but shows up very dark in pic

pop-ups for dimension, wink of Stella

Memory Box tree dies, Lawn Fawn Stitched hillside borders

All things are possible....

....with coffee and mascara

The days I spent recovering from back surgery and two fractured knees, I always felt a little perkier when I attempted to dress in a fresh, crisp blouse and put on my make-up... especially my mascara.  I remember days of visiting an elderly friend in a nursing home....she had her blanket pulled up to her waist.  You wouldn't had known she had nothing on but panties under that lovely blanket for she looked radiant with all her make up on, hair styled and nails painted to the nines.   I know it is all "psyche" but trying to look pretty helps lift my spirits on sickly days...it's also helps me not be in such a Bit@#$$% mood... (my husband can contest).

So that is how I came to creating these cards.  I made 5, each being a tad different. I'm joining the HMFMC Challenge #229: Christmas or Anything Goes

A2, hook punch for holding mugs, old punches for sentiment

vellum for steam, snowy background in window, added several faces for added dimension

sentiment from Paper Smooches

Simon Says Stamp Smile die

Old Fiskar border punch...made all faces several times for added dimension
I used Lots of Pops and Cup Pop Stand dies from Elizabeth Craft as the bases, HM from the Triple CD set, window from Memory Box and mascara shape from Silhouette Store.  I made matching mugs for the front of the cards using my Cameo 3.

Continuing with the snowmen

I see these snowmen animated singing tenor like "Let it Snow" or deep voices singing "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas", the version from the movie Home Alone...haha

I just love this image so I just changed up a little and put in a rectangle shadow box.  I did 5 cards in all with these Snowfolk art images from Beccy.  I actually won a set so I can't wait to go shopping and make some more cards using her wonderful images.  I'm entering A Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's - Christmas inspiration.

A2, Lawn Fawn rolling hill and tree dies and snow stamp background.....used wet embossing powder and snow paper.
