Stella's view on coffee

I've done sweet, Halloween and Fall the past 2 weeks.  It's time to pull Stella out and get a little snarky. I used "Frame It Drink Coffee".

This is a total "case" of Lola at Little Card Maker.  If it ain't broke...don't fix.  I didn't have her paper so I wanted some loud and wild and some more subdued (I made the background).  I added glossy accents on coffee,Wink of Stella on "Energy" and Copics for coloring.  PS  Sale at Bugaboo Stamps that ends tonight.

No challenges to join...just wanted to make 4 cards.

A2, pop-ups for dimension behind arrow.  Yup, had to buy Little B arrow set.

Added some sequins  PS  Those are my real coffee beans.  I have a burr grinder that I use every morning for fresh coffee.

Non-traditional colors Halloween card

Wow....a challenge for a challenge.  Cut It Up Challenge #108 wants non-traditional Halloween colors and QKR Stampede Challenge #215 wants one more Halloween card for the season.

I can't take much credit; for this is a case of a card I found on Pinterest.  OK...I changed a little.  The person's blog was called Stampinpretty.typepad but you can not longer go there.

I used Eureka Stamps digi 1805 bat and cut it out with my Cameo.  I used my Stampin Up Owl and Bird/Branch punches.  The sentiment frames were also old punches.

A2, pop-ups for dimension, ribbons, stitching...don't know why the pink is not showing up so well...it's very pink

Jack O Lantern Booth

I just LOVE the sweet images Mary Ellen at Dearie Dolls creates.  She is always sharing her creations.  With a cup of coffee in hand, she is the first blog I visit each morning.  Sometimes I pull up my file folder made just for her and scroll through all the images....they make me smile no matter what time of day.

It's been way too long using one of her images on a card, so it was time to pull out one of my favorite booth images and go play.
A2, Cameo for all cuts
Inside, white card for writing a little note, blue sign and main pumpkin man is 3 D...cut out several times and used pop-ups for dimension

I used Lots of Pops from Elizabeth Craft, Branch from Memory Box and Trick or Treat from Miss Kate's Cuttables (a daily freebie).

A little late howdy (2nd post today)

One more quick card for the QKR Stampede Challenge # 214 - Wild West.  I went outside my box and went "pink"...I'm glad I did...just to make it fun.  I used a Silhouette Store template #91887 Happy Birthday Swing Card and copics for all coloring with some Wink of Stella on shell and hat.  I used digi7704 - Ride 'em cowboy.
5x7, hard to capture a swing card in a photograph

Howdy Friend

Well, I've done it again......waiting until the last minute to join a challenge.  I guess it is better late than never and shows the challenge team I really wanted to participate.  Stayed up late and finished early this morning.  So here's my card for the QKR Challenge #214 - Wild West.  I didn't have anything "western" that caught my fancy, so I added a cowboy hat I made to the image digi2701 - Do You Love Me and masked the notecard.

My Happy Place (2nd posting today)

Ok...I don't want to bore you, so you can just skip this post if you don't want to see an awesome video my friend Christian (using his fantastic drone) and I put together when I was at the beach a few days before Hurricane Matthew. I invited him down along with my friend Laura.  We had a great time with my brother and his wife.  Anyhooooo, I think it turned out beautifully and makes me smile and homesick for the beach.  (You can see me waving as the drone passes over...haha).

Seeing this on a huge TV screen is wonderful.  Clicking on FULL SCREEN at bottom right corner helps too.

Thank you Christian for all your help and patience...haha

Fall Blessings...Winter Wishes

There is this wonderful lady named Becky that I have known for many years.  She just had her 89th birthday.  She took care of my first son for several months when I had to return to teaching.  She was a regular babysitter on the very rare occasions my husband and I could steal away.  She is also the mother of my best friend.  My husband and I felt very honored to attend her birthday with all her family.  We were the only ones that weren't blood relatives or related by marriage.

She has downsized, so space for knick/knacks is limited.  I made her a decorative piece using a small 5x5 glass block.  What's different is that I put a FALL THEME on one side and a WINTER THEME on the other.  I will simply take off the Fall foliage and replace with the white wintery foliage as seen in the pic below.  I figured she could start displaying in mid-October and turn over in December which could carry her into February.
5x5, Fall Blessings, leaves from Silhouette Store, burlap ribbon which you can't see

other side of 5x5, warm winter wishes, "Winter" and snow flakes from Silhouette Store, lights off

I'll remove the Fall foliage and replace with winter leaves...this was just a quickie pic for you to get the idea

There were still about 10 family members who were unable to attend.  Don and I took the pics...haha  I could only hope that I would have this many loved ones surrounding me on my 89th birthday if I'm ever so lucky to reach that golden year.

Ah Choo

Yup, another House Mouse.  The House Mouse Triple CD has this listed as Winter06.  I call it the Kleenax mouse.  I added real kleenax to the top where the image has wadded up kleenax.  I also have this image in a wood block rubber stamp.

I'm entering my card in the House Mouse HMFMC Challenge #228 - Shaped Card.  I took image into Design Studio, copied it to make the "backing of the card" and cut it all using my Cameo 3.

Cameo 3: I like it, but don't run out and get it if you still have the original like me.  This one is much larger and doesn't do any worse or any better than the original.  Once the Bluetooth works and they add new software that only works with Cameo 3, it might be worth it.  Other than that, you aren't missing out.

A2, real kleenax added to top, pop-ups for dimension, made circle part in Silhouette

Be brave

I continue creating with my little House Mouse images from the Triple House Mouse CD.  They don't label; just use numbers.  I'm calling it "Injured Mouse".  This is pre-colored but I went over a few areas with my copics.  I just couldn't bring myself to using the standard "Get Well Soon"... so this little sentiment from Paper Smooches I thought different and perfect for the occasion.

I'm entering the House Mouse HMFMC Challenge #228 - Shaped Card.  I had several of these scalloped circles left over so why not put them to good use!

5x5, Lawn Fawn Get Well Soon die set, copics, white highlighter, pop-ups for dimensions on back of circle and behind little circle and bandaid.

Before Hurricane Matthew

I thought I would post a few pictures taken 2 days before Hurricane Matthew.  Under each pic I will say what is now gone.  "Most" of the house stayed in tack.  However, a boat appeared in the yard after the storm, but the owner was found...that was one happy man.  We removed the kayaks from the dock but not the launcher.  If anyone has seen it floating around, we would love to have it back.

the entire walk to the dock is gone...$80,000

It's against the law to pick sea oats or walk on the dunes....all is gone and flattened

picture taken by a friend's drone.  You can't really see the groinings but they are gone

all the docks and walks are gone

The top widows deck is gone and many dock walks were scattered all over the yard.

swings can be replaces, limbs gone, these are Live Oaks that are century years old

Sassy Sally on Bench (Fall)

Gosh, I remember raking leaves, then jumping off the wall into the pile.  I would pretend my dress was an open parachute.  And that was JUST yesterday.  Just kidding!

This adorable Pre-Colored Sassy Sally Autumn Bench Sitter from Paper Creators was a fun image to bring to life.  You will recognize the Lawn Fawn Tree Silhouette die.  Yup, I used pop-ups for dimension and cut out the image using my new Cameo 3.

House Mouse Shaped card

This particular little House Mouse Wooden Rubber Stamp "Fantastic Friends" is retired.  I would love to see some of the retired come back in clear stamp form.

Anyhoo, I made a shaped card and was sure to add pink pink pink for two different challenges.  House Mouse HMFMC #228 - shaped card.  Die Cuttin' Divas #288 - pink.  It is still breast cancer awareness month.  I'm sending these 3 cards (different sentiments)(only two showing), to friends who have dealt with or dealing with breast cancer.

PS..New toy: I bought a HP Color Laser Pro printer and totally thrilled with it.  Yup, the ink is more expensive, but it last 5-6 times longer so the end result is it being cheaper than my HP Photosmart printer.  Laser is great for graphics, though not photographs. (Deloris's cards were just too awesome, so it's her fault that I'm now broke..haha)

5x5 scallop circle, twine, Wink of Stella, copics, Lawn Fawn Stitched circle dies

"time has really flown by"...all the circles are inlayed rather than mounted on top of each other.

Autumn Glass Block

I love that you can now buy a glass block that already has the hole in it.  So quick and easy!

I have a glass block for Christmas.  These blocks make wonderful personalized gifts.  This block is for ME!  haha  I'm going to put the same wording on the other side or maybe "Autumn Blessings" and use as the centerpiece for the dining table on Thanksgiving.  I have $9 invested in it.

made the words in Silhouette, Fall Colored lights $1.50, decoration on top was $1.50, burlap cloth was $3, left over ribbon from a gift, glass block $4.25

Pumpkin Shelf Card - Little Dracular

6x6
Isn't this the cutest thing?  I've done a lot of 3D cards but nothing like this.  The directions are easy to follow.  You just print out and "away you go".  This is Pumpkin Card Shelf Kit from Paper Creator.  Also, join the fun at Paper Creator's Challenge #52: Anything Spooky.

Run run...as fast as you can

Is this not the strangest pumpkin image?  It's sorta creepy but at the same time, funny...well, to me! HaHa  I'm imagining the pumpkin not wanting to be carved up and is trying to escape from the humans or maybe tip toeing through the cemetery as not wake any ghosts.

I'm using QKR digi12309 Running Pumpkin.  I'm entering the Cut It Up Challenge #107: Pumpkins and the QKR Stampede Challenge #213: Pumpkins.

JOY to you and me

I made four of these little cuties.  It's pretty CAS, so I was sure to add stitching, pop-ups for dimension, glossy accents on the berries, and a sprinkle of glitter in the snow and leaves. The image is another from the House Mouse Triple CD.  I'm so glad Deloris talked me into it.  Actually, her cards using the set really impressed me.

I've picked out a different Christmas design for family members.  I will only make 10. "Heavens to Betsy" I wish I could send out cards to all my friends, especially all my card crafter friends.  How does one choose without hurting someone else's feelings?  No really, if you have a solution, please drop me an email.

Delight in little things

Thanks for bearing with me during this busy time.  You have seen enough pics from Hurricane Matthew and it will be quite a while to get things back to normal.

I'm glad to be in one of my "happy places"....my craft room.  I'm focusing on some quick cards for Fall.  Yup, I made 3 this time.  Since it is a "slider card", I put the House Mouse in 3 different positions on each card.

These critters are doing an excellent job making me smile.  I'm entering the card(s) in the House Mouse HMFMC #227 Challenge: branch out and the QKR Challenge #212: Autumn Leaves. This mouse was from the House Mouse Triple CD.

Catch Up

I was at Pawley's Island last week, only to discover Hurricane Matthew was coming our way.  Everyone had gone home (to Greenville) or was traveling on business, so it was just my brother Ray and me at the house.  I helped him tied down, and move things out of "harm's way" until we were given the demand to evacuate.  I didn't waste time, but gas stations were a challenge with people breaking rules.

I got home late, only for friends from Charleston to arrive since they also had to evacuate.  Our house was 175 miles away from brunt of storm.  My brother stayed as long as possible before he was told to "get out".

Our friends and family left today to head back to coast to assess the damage.  They were "somewhat" the lucky ones.  They are still without electricity, but wanted to get home.

The only pics I have so far are pics of the dock...before and after.  You can't insure docks, so this is a $80,000 lost.  BUT, their lives are more important.

Anyhow, I will be able to start making cards tomorrow now that company is gone.  I may be going back to the beach to help clean up if needed.  The damage to the house and yard is overwhelming.  You almost don't know where to start.

Happy Halloween Shaker Card

This adorable Good Witch is a Sassy Cheryl (pre-colored) from Paper Creator.  I had a good time with this sweet witch image.

I cut the circles and frames with Lil Inker Stitched Circles.  I also used some left over darling pumpkins from U Can Count On Me Kit.  OK...I over did the sprinkles in one of my cards, but it sure was fun pouring them in the little bag and then sealing with my FUZE...which I love love love.

5x5, sequins, beads, spider and bat punches, metal pumpkin, twine, acetate, pop-ups for dimension

angle view, you can see a little pumpkin inside

I didn't realize the paper would be so "busy".  I couldn't pull off without destroying everything, so it stays...haha and I hope someone will like it.

U Can Count On Me...(video)

I have the delightful pleasure of joining the Paper Creator's design team.  I really enjoy what Debbie creates and what she offers in her store.  There is also the Paper Creator Blog where you can get wonderful inspiration and join a challenge.

This month's Challenge #52 has the theme: Halloween.  I started with one idea, only to end up going in a different direction.  I'm sure a lot of you have done the same...haha  Anyway, I chose the U Can Count on Me Kit.  I used only the pieces, made an action wobble for Dracula, and placed it all into a little scene. I also copied and pasted his face twice for added dimension.

A2, Lawn Fawn Tree Frame, Lil Inker Circle Die, cloud punches, pop-ups for dimension
