Pull Card Forgetful Elephant - QKR

I'm joining the Die Cuttin Diva's #268 Challenge ( Anything Goes) and it is my 2nd entry to the QKR Challenge #193: birthday theme.  I need to replenish my stack of birthday cards.  This cutie is Forgetful Birthday.  I used PS and copics for coloring, Pull Charm die set by Elizabeth Craft, brad, ribbon, eyelet, made my own balloon string on Cameo and Lil Inker balloon die.

Never Forget Your Birthday

I pretty much cased Connie's card at QKR.  I think I will add a string bow on the tail as well.  This is CAS...as about CAS as you can get, but I think it turned out to be a fun card I would be happy to send to anyone.  I tried to keep it gender neutral. If I send to a girl, I'll paint the toes pink..haha

I'm joining QKR's Challenge #193 with theme being "birthday".  Boy, can never have too many of those cards stock piled. Elephant at QKR.

You're Spectacular

I struggled with this card....only because my heart wasn't in it.  Still missing our Boo.  If anything was going to cheer me up, then it would have to be working with a From the Heart image and entering into some favorite challenges.  This is Spectacular Birdbrain by From the Heart Stamps.  I'm following the Challenge sketch #153 and twist (fussy cut image).  I'm also joining in on Cut It Up Challenge #97: any sketch and use a die cut....in this case, the sunglasses for the cut.

Our sweet, dear Boo...

....went missing while under the care of a friend who was watching our doggies while we went to the beach this past week.  We have tried everything to find him...humane society, facebook, craigslist, contacting all vets and rescues.  We saturated the area he went missing (which was very far away from our home) with flyers in neighborhoods, sheriffs office, fire department, and the mailman and attaching flyers to mailboxes.  We have offered a $500 reward.  He's not worth that much but he is loved that much.  I haven't been able to work on cards.  We have spent our days driving and driving and driving the area in search of him.  He has a sister, Bonnie, who is upset and whines many times during the day.

yes, he has a microchip but the area he was lost in is a bit impoverished and I don't see anyone taking him to a vet or the humane society.  I'm hoping the $500 reward will be incentive for them to be looking for him

Some little happy pics...
My friend Faith at Daffodil Cards blogspot loves her agapanthus flowers too.  This is the first year they have bloomed so nicely since being planted last year.  They are still not at full bloom yet (some are still in bud form) but wanted to share...needed something happy to look at right now.

stand about 4 feet high and each bloom is about 10 inches in diameter

I planted more on another hill.  I try to add a few the past two years.  They are hard to find and are a little expensive.

Happy Happy Happy

This card is just like last Thursday's post on the outside. But, I changed the animal inside along with the sign.  Saying "happy happy happy" could be used besides a happy birthday card.  I'm having such a fun time with these pop-up dies from Elizabeth Craft, along with the animals.

Lost Without You

As I mentioned the other day, I was going to post another card using the Loads Of Fun Stamp and Die Set by Lawn Fawn.  I changed up a sock and the sentiment.  I'm so into puns and cutie.  I also made this dimensional by cutting out the window of the washer, using clear acetate and then pop-ups.  My son insisted I put a "C" on a shirt for his Carolina colors...USC. haha

Coffee Coffee Coffee

It's been awhile since I've done any coffee theme cards. What a great time to revisit to join the From the Heart Sketch/Twist Challenge #152.  I used the Birdbrain Needs Coffee image. I chose to follow the "twist" by "enlarging and cropping" the image for the challenge. The 3 cardsI made are  pretty much the same but with 3 different sentiments and paper.

Loads of Fun Together

Had a good time working with the Loads of Fun set from Lawn Fawn.  I opted not to do a shaker card, so instead I cut out the front, added clear acetate film, used pop-ups for dimensions and added the clothes to the base. The card came together quickly and I was happy with the end result.  I will share another card with same theme in the next few days but with a different sentiment.

Revamped Pull Card

Yup, I was hungry and made it a cupcake pull card.  I took my little Hamlet the Pigwit off carefully and followed the weekly sketch at From the Heart Stamps.  I'm not totally elated, but much happier and willing to send each to someone...haha

Hamlet in the Planter Pull Card

First, I'm not happy the way my card turned out.  I love Hamlet the Pigwit in the Planter from From the Heart Stamps.  I also love the "pull card" effect and the paper, but the flowery paper and all the flowers in the planter are just too busy and fight each other.  I will try and pull apart...wish me luck.

The From the Heart Stamps May 2016 Challenge is progressive.  Use this adorable image, join the challenge and if all rules are followed, you will receive the next month's image free.

Hamlet in Planter - Miss You

I re-did this card.  It is posted on the From the Heart May Challenge, but disappointed in the way it turned out.  The flowers on the image and paper clashed, so I ripped it apart. So now I revamped Hamlet the Pigwit in the Planter and followed the sketch for the From the Heart Weekly Challenge #151.  Now I'm much happier.

Berry Berry Special : 2nd post today

My first challenge since last November.  Keeping it CAS.  Height of strawberry season here.  Cut It Up Challenge #96 is to use a die cut and have a strawberry on card.  I pretty much cased this from a Lawn Fawn Pinterest post.  I used Lawn Fawn Summertime Charms stamp and die set...a great set that is very versatile.

A2, copics, white highlighter, pop-ups for dimension, red sequins
sentiment is very old $1 bin purchase, Lil Inker stitched rectangles

Elmo ready to swim

I cased Evelyn at My Little Craft Blog (Cut It Up).....her card was just too cute to not pass up and case.  My first grand child is now getting old enough to enjoy cards, especially Sesame Street and the Mickey Mouse gang.

I must share an event on Mother's Day.  Mary Hannah, now 2.75 years, handed me my Mother's Day card from her and brother Wyatt.  She pointed out all the characters on the card...Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto, etc.  When it was time for her to leave, she took my card off the table to take home with her.  She said she loved them so much, she just couldn't leave them!  So off she went with my Mother's Day card.  "Talking about the thought that counts"...because that's the only thing I was left with...the thoughts and memory of the card..haha

You can never have too much happy

I bought the Bath Tub die set from Elizabeth Crafts when I bought the adirondack chair die.  I've spend my wad for the month.  So many different sentiments and occasions this can be used. Lots of birthdays in the near future so I better get busy.  I used the crab since I had a few left over from my last card.  Love being able to use scraps.

Beach shadow box

Bought this beach theme shadow box from Lori Whitlock at the Silhouette Store. ( I got the idea from Deloris at Stamping at the Lake.) Gosh...$1  It folds flat for shipping and doesn't need any extra stamps.  I reduced the size in order to use an A2 envelop.  My brother and SIL sent me a picture of where it sits in their kitchen.  They now lived permanently at Pawley's Island, SC (AND, I can go visit and stay as long as I want...yippee!)

Life is Good

I hunger for the beach...I see it in the near future!  I just bought this adirondack chair die from Elizabeth Craft.  I ripped the packaging open and away I went.  I made 4 cards with some slight differences.  (I like the fence one better only because that what you will see at our SC beaches. )I see a big future for this chair for all seasons.  You may get tired of seeing it.  HaHa

Please forgive me, but one of you sent me this awesome stamp that I used on the inside of the card.  I said I would never forget, and yet I have.  I will blame it on aging along with the drugs for back surgery and pain of the broke knee...haha  ANYHOOO..if it was you who gave me this, PLEASE let me know so I can tell everyone.

Shaped Pretzels and Congratulations Crystal

I used 2 different candy forms to make the diplomas/degrees.  There was a lot of sweetness going on in my kitchen this morning.  All that's left is the wrapping of the pretzels that were just dipped. (no form used) Last of the treats for graduation luncheon.
USC colors...black and garnet

silver and black sprinkles with chocolate lace....some have red sprinkles

I made a sign like this for my son 4 years ago when he graduated from high school.  Wow, he just graduated from college this Saturday.  Time flies!  Anyhoooo, my friend remembered the sign and commissioned me to make her daughter one.  Easy Peasee!  Just thought I would share.  They will hang off the porch on her high school graduation day.

To A Bright Future

My son is graduating this Saturday.  He and his roommate have been friends since 3rd grade.  My son's major is Chemistry and his roommate Biology.  They will be headed in different directions.  Anyhow, I'm putting money in the lightbulb and presenting it to him at graduation.  I spelled his name correctly...Davide  (I think it is an Italian or German version...maybe Imke knows.)

Made this in Silhouette Design Studio.

Graduation Time ( more projects)

I did a little book for Mitchell to place at his seat at the luncheon.  He's been given a "paid for education", and money but I still wanted a little something at his seat.  I made this 30 page book through the use of Costco Photo Books.  I wish I could share all the pages, but just not feasible.  No, it's not a homemade scrapbook, but it is certainly portable for a young man.

The second project is a silly game to keep us in the spirit while we are waiting on our food and a good conversation started.  I rolled these up and wrapped like a diploma with a ribbon around each.  These will be placed at each person's seat.

Get Your Tail To The Beach

This leg brace is keeping me from traveling, but the moment I'm free, I'm off to the beach.

A friend saw a card at a store and asked me to do my version for her.  I made this CAS and made 8 of these cards....4 for me and 4 for my friend.  This is the first card I made since November.  All of this was designed in Silhouette Studio, except for the Fiskar wave die.

A2, pop-up dots for dimension

Tea Time

Love teapots and tea.  Yup, and being from the South, I love ice cold SWEET TEA.  I used a  teapot/cup set die from Impression Obsession.  I used Elizabeth Crafts Lots Of Pops die for the base.  Making one saves money, but doing a quick die saves time. ( I cased the "inside" from someone on Pinterest.)

The pic I took of the card's front was so bad, I have opted not to show, but it has stacked teacups with embellishments.  I changed the paper and sentiments on the other 3 cards I made.  I also added a teabag on the front of 2 since I was able to make a large pocket.

A2, label die set from company on line no longer in business

Graduation Time

Our youngest son is graduating May 7 from University of South Carolina in Chemistry.  We are so proud of him.  I need to brag for a second.  He's been doing inorganic chemistry research for a professor the last two years.  Upon graduating, he wrote a paper and presented to professor (I think a requirement).  Anyhow, the Department of Chemistry was so impressed it is being "published" .... that's a huge deal and a bigger deal for an undergraduate.  Usually, this is saved for doctorate candidates.  From a mother's point of view, I hope it will look good on his resume and help him get a JOB!!!  Anyone out there need an outstanding chemist with strong lab experience in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry???  Haha

We are having a very small luncheon after graduation ceremony.  I wanted to do a few things for the table at the restaurant.  We will be out-of-town, so I'm trying to keep it simple and portable.  I did a few easel pieces and made pillow boxes (Silhouette Store).  I''m sharing these in today's post.

$1 easels from AC Moore's, vinyl

Approx. 5"x 3"  Inside: bags of peanuts and mints (placed at each person's seat)
