You know you are OLD when....

..... I have always enjoyed dear Stella.  I can heard Marlon Brando yelling out her name..."S T E L L A"! Only people my age will know who he was....haha   Anyhoooooo, I totally scraplifted from Jeanie at The Spotted Chick. She is also on the design team at Bugaboo Stamps...awesome DT there.  I love blogs and challenges for that very reason....you get to see the best at work.  I'm a good girl though in that I try to always remember to give credit where credit is due.  The only thing I did different was use a brad to wrap my cord around rather than using magnets.  The image is Stella from Bugaboo Stamps.  I'm entering the card into "a different kind of fold" at the Catch the Bug challenge. ( I didn't do very good job on lighting this time...sorry!)

2nd post today - Check out Treasure Box Designs

I enjoy making svgs, but enjoy just as much buying them.  One of my fab places is Treasure Box Designs. They are also on Facebook.  Check them out.  You will also find them always on my right side-bar.

Flowers for Anita

I wanted to try a challenge at Copic Creations (No. 44).  You are to use "warm" colors.  I used the warm grays and violets.  I think this was the 3rd or 4th stamp I ever bought....which had to had been about 4 years ago.  Wow...time flies!  I cut out a 2nd vase and applied glossy accents. I also cut and colored 4 additional tulips  and applied with pop-ups, but it is hard to see.  I made this especially for my sweet neighbor Anita, for she is such a lover of flowers.

Stitched the outline, added pearls and mulberry flowers, old SU paper, made a frame with MS punch.

Bunny Zoe's Crafts:  Spring Flowers

Cards I sent friends

I met my hubby at our favorite sushi restaurant for a Valentine lunch....then off to run errands.  These are two cards I made for friends.  The penguin is from Jennifer Dove at Just 4 Fun.  I forgot where I got the cute doggie...little tired and didn't do my homework.  The silver embellishment says "Friend".  I am going to try and show pictures tomorrow on how to do the inserts for my copic box.  I haven't tried video tutorial....I may scare some people with my Southern accent...haha

I Wanna Be a Cowgirl (3 things to cover)

I want to thank everyone for the kind comments and concerns over our unexpected issues with the water problem.  Looking back, things could had been worse.  We do have our good health (right now)...haha  Dear Deloris has to pay much more than me for a new water main line, and Cheryl1 had her entire basement flooded and lost irreplaceable items. It was so nice to know I have friends like you that have thought of us during this crazy, expensive time.  GOOD NEWS:  I received another BIG check in the mail on Saturday for administering the SAT back in December.  I had forgotten all about it!!! What a surprise!!!!

Next: I bought a new storage box for my copics.  The one from Walmart for $3.50 was fine, but I had a $10 off coupon from Office Depot and was able to get this one for $10. (Originally $19.99)  It will hold 162 markers, closes nicely, has a handle and a combination lock.

Last, a challenge at I Did It Creations (Bling It On!).  You can choose from several free images to use on your card.   I was inspired by Deloris at Stamping At the Lake and Tammy at Create When I Can and Cheryl at Cafexpressions for her love of cowboy images.  I covered the girl's hat and clothes in copper textured embossing, used lots of blue rhinestones, and a large silver star.  I added a fence, but don't remember where I got it...I forgot to write it down.

One of Those Days.......

Headed off Friday morning to substitute to make a $100 to help my craft addiction, only to come home and find a river under the house.  The main water line had burst.  The plumber left with a $2000 check in hand.  ...so much for my piddly ass $100!  To make matters worst, my husband's computer crashed and burned last night.  It probably had a heart attack when he had to enter a $2000 bill into Quicken.   It's now Saturday morning and we're not over the shock....he's still trying to resuscitate the computer but to no avail. Think I will try to make a card to get over my woes....haha (ok...trying to smile)...the bill could had been $4000!

Share the Shame....

The pictures posted are the "after" effects of cleaning out and organizing my stamps.  It is still a work in progress.  My goal is to only have 3 rows of stamps on the white shelves and the rest unmounted in CD cases....then I have more room for other "STUFF" as my husband would say.  Before, the shelves were crammed with stamps literally on top of each other and not an inch to spare, so you can see that I have improved.  The other mess was my copics.  I had them everywhere but recently I organized them using the plastic webbing...which is working great.  Unfortunately, I only have room for 12 more markers...surely that will be enough, but I think I also made that same comment after purchasing my 12th marker.

These pictures are for the challenge at Apron Strings (Share the Shame). You "share the shame" of your bounty of stamps, but I also included my shame of copics too. Luckily you don't have to have the "before" pictures, but it would be nice.  I take pics of home improvements before and after, but not the craft room....haha

Hedgehog...Think Spring! Think Love! Think Friendship! (2nd post today)

I like Penny Black's hedgehog...okay...I love her other stamps too!  I have been practicing my coloring with my copics.  I used a gift of February tiny prima mulberry flowers, pearls, stitching, and 3 MS punches.  I'm entering this in Penny Black's challenge (white background). Please forgive me, but I forgot to color the grass for the picture...sorry you don't get to see it.  I'm too tired to take all the pictures again. I think (and hope) I can enter this in with the Penny Black flowers challenge.

Little Behind in Sending some Friendship Love!

.....that's what the sentiment is going to say on the inside.  I have several Thank You's to friends to send.  I'm doing this card twice today.  This one is for Catch the Bug Challenge (Anything Goes) , Totally Paper Crafts (Friendship) and Kaboodle Doodles (ribbon) and Scrappily Ever After (2 colors).  I just love this doggie from Bugaboo Stamps....Jami's copic coloring inspired me the first time so why not the 2nd and 3rd, Tania at Java Beans gave me the idea for cutting the MS punch and layering it in a circle. Did some stitching (as usual), ribbon, and pearl hearts. I'm going to make me some shrimp creole, salad and come back and post my next one for the Penny Black challenge. ( The metal embellishment says "Friends".)

How's My Driving? Call 1-800- Shut-Up

Okay...last one of Gus for the week....  I just couldn't resist!  I've seen some crazy drivers in the rain, snow and ice lately and this hit a nerve!  Gus is from Bugaboo Stamps.  He's a hoot!  The pic doesn't make the coloring look to good but I assure you it looks good in person.  The background is a little busier than I'm known for using, but I thought it went well with the theme.  My Gosh...so many people have joined the Catch the Bug (Anything Goes) challenge this week, but I'll enter him anyway.  Added some stitching, svg arrows and a little humor and I'm off to have a cup of hot tea and a donut.....yum!

I love Gus!!! What's he up to now?

This adorable sentiment was on a card I saw about three weeks ago, but I can't remember who or where.  Please let me know if you know.  I wrote her and told her how adorable her card was and would love to scraplift a bit along with the hilarious sentiment.  I'm entering Tuesday Throwdown Challenge (stitching) and the Catch The Bug Anything Goes Challenge.  You must check out Bugaboo Stamps.  Jodie and the DT are an awesome group! (As you can see, not many frills and/or layering, but I'm happy with the simplicity of it....

A2, copics, stitching, black beads, Sizzix paper called Country

I love my watermark that Cheryl First was so sweet to make for me.  I wish everyone would use one...then I would know who designed a card that I may have downloaded for future reference and give that person credit.

Only Angel Food Cake will do.....

You are so special only Angel Food Cake will do for a "FRIEND" like you!  Since I love red velvet cake I added ..."only red velvet angel food cake will do.....Hey...it's my cake!!!  The image is from Art Impressions which I'm entering in their challenge #2: Valentine Inspired.  I used 2 MS punches, copics, stitching, glitter, and buttons that were a special present.  I covered up the candles on cake when stamping in order to add hearts.  I think next time I will leave the candles and just add hearts as an embellishment somewhere else on the paper.  Another hearts theme challenge is Stamptacular Sunday , Alotarubberstamps and Totally Paper Crafts.

We Make Quite The Pear !

The image is from Beccy's Place. You really need to check her blog out.  She's even offering colored images for free.  Jennifer Dove, at Just 4 Fun, offers copic classes, but unfortunately she lives in Arizona and I live in SC.  So, she has been giving a few quick tutorials on her blog using some  of Beccy's images.  Practice Practice Practice!
I made the card for my husband for Valentine's.  No, we aren't exactly the hearts and red stuff, but we are going on 31 years strong.  I'm sure I'll do another cutsey one for Valentine's morning. I used a Jim Holtz embellishment, along with ribbon, embossing folder and copic markers.
